Programs run throughout the year on two spheres:
Ongoing financial assistance for those who due to their life circumstances or other reasons are unable to stand on their own two feet and provide for themselves and their families. These families receive crucial monthly help in covering their main expenses: bills, tuition and more, in addition to shopping vouchers for the big supermarkets for food and other basic commodities.
Special assistance prior to Jewish holidays, lovingly provided to families who subsist valiantly on a day-to-day basis, yet face financial collapse during holiday times, being unable to even celebrate the holiday in a minimal fashion. For such families, Birkat Hashem provides the holiday needs via shopping vouchers, in addition to distributing the special items required for each holiday in the most dignified way.
In the food department – quality meat and Grade A fish, high-quality oil before Chanukah, fine wine and Matzot in addition to shopping vouchers as part of the Kimcha DePischa project, and whatever else is needed to prepare for the holidays.
In the clothing department - Clothing essentials for each teenager and adult: hats from top brands, up-to-date suits, and high-quality leather shoes.
A limited committee meet periodically to carefully review each application. The family's situation is discreetly examined and verified, in a way which is both highly reliable, and absolutely preserves the family's dignity. Since preserving the recipient's dignity is the first item on Birkat Hashem's agenda.
