Every joyous occasion in the Jewish home entails a host of expenses. Whether the birth of a new baby, a Bar Mitzvah or a wedding - for the families supported by Birkat Hashem, who barely cover the costs of daily living, these additional expenses are prohibitive. Whenever a family experiences a joyous occasion, the Birkat Hashem staff and volunteers enter the picture full steam ahead, setting up a made-to-measure support system uniquely adapted to the family's needs and life conditions. The help may therefore include funding for baby accessories or the Brit se'udah; buying Tefillin, a suit and hat for the Bar Mitzvah boy; household essentials for a bride setting up her new home or clothing for the groom for his big day. The help is arranged by the Birkat Hashem staff with exceptional sensitivity, and with maximum respect for the needy.
